Call for Testimony: Medicaid Coverage for Medically Necessary Diapers
The Diaper Bank of Connecticut, member organization of CT Early Childhood Alliance, is advocating for HB 6937: An Act Concerning Medicaid Coverage for Medically Necessary Children’s Diapers, and with good reason! HB 6937 would improve both the health and quality of life of children who wear diapers, provide peace of mind for their caregivers, and has the potential to reduce costs to Medicaid due to the need for fewer emergency room visits for diaper-related reasons.
This bill would also require the Department of Social Services to report on the number of children impacted, and the impact of providing diapers had on the health of Connecticut’s children, the costs to the state, and potential savings compared to health expenditures as a result of diaper provision.
